Celebrations

CelebrationsChristmas 2006 found us very busy with lots of ways to celebrate. Here are some highlights, of which you can see some of the photos in my collage.

One thing we love to do is go to Celebration, FL. This is a very significant place for Jason and I, as that is where Jason asked me to marry him. 🙂 And now we have enjoyed going there each year for their Christmas celebrations. A cute, tranquil small-town with fake snow, a Christmas train, and Santa.

Something else we did, that I would love to be able to do every year, was see the Epcot Candlelight Processional. A mass choir, joined by a 50-piece live orchestra and a celebrity narrator (we had Kirk Cameron), tell the story of Christmas in words and music, in an amazing performance. I was moved to tears as I heard Kirk Cameron share briefly his story of being agnostic to trusting in Jesus as his Savior! I am so thankful and prayerful that God used it to show others more of who He is!

Both of my brothers and my niece, Alyx, came to visit just before Christmas. Scott took us to see the Ice Exhibit at Gaylord Palms. It was fabulous! Absolutely amazing what they make out of ice (the wreath in the collage is one of many exhibits)! And of course, Natalie and Nicholas had a blast playing with Alyx and their Uncles.

We also enjoyed a visit from Gram and Pop (Jason’s parents). That was fun, too. We enjoyed our time with them, the kids especially had fun.

And one of my favorite things about Christmas, was being with Jason, Natalie, and Nicholas on Christmas Eve and Day. I can’t explain in words how much they mean to me. And to be with them at our church on Christmas Eve, singing Carols and reflecting on Jesus, brought so much joy to my heart! Sweet Natalie held her own candle this year. To see her and Nick’s faces glowing in that light was so precious.

I hope you had a great Christmas celebration this year. And at the very least, that you were able to focus on the Greatest Celebration of all – the birth of Jesus!
